Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Calypso Fuel (“we,” “us”) collects through our website and mobile app (together, the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

We collect information in five ways:

• Account information. When you sign up or sign in, our authentication provider, Clerk, collects your email address and password (or your Google/Apple account details if you use single sign-on). We receive your email address and a unique account identifier from Clerk; we do not see or store your password.
• Order information.When you request a fuel delivery, we collect your name, email, phone number, delivery address, fuel type, quantity, and delivery window. If you’re signed in, your order is linked to your account so it appears in your order history; guest orders are not linked to any account.
• Delivery records.When we fuel a vehicle, boat, or piece of equipment that carries a Calypso Fuel tag, our driver logs the delivery: photos of the item and our equipment before, during, and after fueling, the fuel type and gallons delivered, the time, and the location of the driver’s phone while on site. If we tag something of yours, we also keep a short description of it (for example, the plate or hull number), the name you want it filed under, and how to reach you. We use these records to confirm what we delivered and to resolve any question about a delivery.
• Contact form information. If you send us a message through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message content.
• Analytics and advertising measurement (website only). Our website loads the Meta (Facebook) pixel and Google Analytics. Both record the pages you visit on calypsofuel.com and whether you complete an order, and send that to Meta and Google along with your IP address and a cookie identifier. We use them to understand how people find us and whether our ads bring in customers. Neither runs in our mobile app. We also keep our own simple visit counts — which page you landed on, the website or search engine that sent you, and whether you placed an order or sent a message — using a random code held only in your browser tab. This does not use a cookie and does not record your IP address or identify you.

Apart from that, we do not collect location data from your devices, device identifiers, or browsing behavior beyond what’s described above. (The locations in delivery records come from our driver’s phone, not yours.) You can stop both entirely by using a browser that blocks third-party trackers, an ad or tracker blocker, Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by adjusting your off-Facebook activity settings in your Meta account — none of which affects your ability to order.

• To fulfill and coordinate fuel deliveries, including contacting you about your order
• To maintain your account and show you your order history
• To respond to messages sent through our contact form
• To document each delivery and resolve disputes or questions about what was delivered and when
• To maintain the security and reliability of the Service
• To measure how well our advertising works — how many people who saw an ad went on to order

We do not sell your information. We do not upload your name, email address, phone number, or delivery address to advertising platforms, and we do not use your order details to build advertising audiences.

We share information only with the service providers that help us run Calypso Fuel:

• Clerk — authentication and account management
• Neon — database hosting for order, message, and delivery records
• Vercel — website and application hosting, and private storage for delivery photos
• Meta (Facebook) — advertising measurement on our website, as described above
• Google — website analytics and advertising measurement, as described above

Clerk, Neon, and Vercel process your information only to provide their service to us. Meta and Google are different: under their own terms they may also use the website activity these tags report for their own advertising and product purposes, which under some state privacy laws counts as “sharing” for targeted advertising. If you’d rather they didn’t, block the tags using any of the methods above, or email us at contact@calypsofuel.com and we’ll confirm how to opt out.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Calypso Fuel or others.

Order, contact form, and delivery record data is stored in our Postgres database (hosted by Neon). Delivery photos are kept in private storage (Vercel Blob) and can be viewed only by our signed-in staff. Account credentials are managed entirely by Clerk and are never stored on our servers. In the mobile app, your session is stored securely on your device using the platform keychain (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) rather than as plain text.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the effective date above.
